Smoking in Public Places

Washington state has had a Smoking in Public Places law (RCW 70.160) in effect since 2005. This law helps protects employees and families from secondhand smoke in indoor public places and workplaces.

Vaping Laws

In June of 2016, the “Washington State Vapor Products” law (RCW 70.345took effect which regulates sales of vapor products to reduce youth access and establish a licensing system for vapor product retailers and distributors. The “Washington State Vapor Product” law (RCW 70.345) also prohibits use of vapor products in specific areas where children are present such as childcares, schools, playgrounds and elevators.
