Commitment to Quality Improvement

Benton-Franklin Health District values the importance of including quality improvement standards and principles on a day-to-day basis. Quality relates to everything an agency oversees, including general business practices, programs and services offered, and interactions with community partners. BFHD strives to follow principles and standards as look at overall trends in order to provide the best service to the community.

The Performance Management Department was established in 2017 to provide dedicated staff who could specifically focus on quality improvement efforts and support the district and its programs in this endeavor. The department gathers data, utilizes continuous quality improvement tools/practices, assesses the agency/community, and provides recommendations to help the agency improve. Continuous quality improvement principles and assessment activities assist in making adjustments or changes in policy and program direction, as well as in allocating agency resources. Another important element involves maintaining the organization’s accreditation status. BFHD follows the Public Health Accreditation Board’s (PHAB) standards and measures for public health entities, which provide best practice guidelines and requirements.
