Celebrating National Home Visiting Week – April 21–25!
Parenting is a journey, and sometimes families need extra support—whether it's due to financial hardship, being new to the U.S., teen pregnancy, or past experiences with trauma, abuse, or neglect. National Home Visiting Week is a time to celebrate the dedicated professionals who provide vital services and recognize the powerful impact home visiting programs have on maternal and child health.
Since 2013, Benton-Franklin Health District has proudly offered Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP)—a proven, evidence-based home visiting program—thanks to funding from the Department of Children, Youth and Families and the Benton County Public Safety Tax.
What does Nurse-Family Partnership offer?
As a first-time mom, you likely have a lot of questions. That’s why NFP begins working with families as early in pregnancy as possible. Specially trained nurses meet with moms regularly to answer questions, prepare them for childbirth, and help ensure a healthy start for their babies. From promoting a healthy pregnancy to supporting child development and encouraging moms to pursue their dreams, NFP nurses walk alongside families every step of the way—so moms can be there for their babies.
With over 45 years of research behind it, NFP has a proven track record of improving the health and well-being of moms and children affected by social and economic inequality. It’s a partnership that makes a measurable, lasting difference—for families and communities alike. And beyond the personal impact, studies show NFP offers a strong economic return: $5.70 saved for every $1 invested.
BFHD’s Nurse-Family Partnership welcomes referrals!
We receive referrals from medical providers, WIC offices, school nurses, pregnancy centers like Hope Medical and You Medical, juvenile justice programs, former clients—and moms can even refer themselves.
